Canary Islands > Fuerteventura > Caleta de Fuste Caleta de Fuste thrives on tourism, with lots of accommodation to offer, a fantastic golden sandy beach popular for water sports enthusiasts. The tourist centre of El Castillo (the castle) stands next to the harbour and is well worth a visit. The town of Caleta is often referred to as a holiday village.The man made beach has been carefully constructed to avoid currents and is in the shape of a horse shoe. This ensures it is perfectly safe for children of all ages. Those wanting to be a little more adventurous can go diving, hire jet skis or learn to windsurf at the water centre on the beach. The harbour is home to many yachts, catamarans and boats which provide local trips as well as providing a beautiful backdrop in the evenings. There is a multitude of good restaurants in Caleta that can cater for all tastes at very reasonable prices. Steaks and Fish are particularly good, however there are also Chinese, Indian, Greek and English restaurants all within a close area. There are also a number of good supermarkets within the local area. Caleta de Fuste is situated on the east coast of the island, roughly 10km south of the airport and approximately 20 minutes south of Puerto del Rosario. There is a local bus service, which runs every 30 minutes and provides air conditioned coaches for the trip. At 1 Euro (65p) it is an extremely cheap and easy way to get around.

About Fuerteventura Visit the Oasis for a wonderful day out - your children will love the parakeeta show and camel safari. Check out the unbelievable white sand beaches of the Costa Calma . Great weather with a pleasant cooling breeze. Corralejo is a holiday resort and the busiest place on the island - makes for an interesting day trip. Puerto Del Rosario is the capital of the island - very 'real' and very Spanish. Caleta de Fuste Pop into Caleta de Fuste to do a bit of shopping or go for a meal in the evening. The commercial Atlantico your nearest shopping centre is a ten minute stroll away with a big Spar and an interesting and eclectic mix of shops. Also cinema complex and ten pin bowling Scuba diving and windsurfing by the Marina There are quiet beaches and lagoons plus a large sandy beach. Stride along the fabulous cliff top walk with amazing ocean views, chipmunks and egrets. Casa Felicidad is only a fifteen minute drive away from the airport.
