Near Village and Beach Life
Our Crete Villa (Villa Asteria) is located in our own private olive grove - a haven of peach between 2 neighbouring villages, yet close to both so you can easily enjoy their facilities. It is the ideal place if you value your privacy yet wish to be conveniently within a few minutes from restaurants, bars, beach and minimarkets. The villa is surrounded by mature olive trees in several acres of land, gated and fenced to ensure your privacy. Villa Asteria shares the olive grove with only four other houses, each at least 60 metres from the other, with gardens in between so there is no chance of being overlooked
Three minutes away by car is Almirida Bay for safe, sandy beaches, watersports, seafront shops and a dozen good restaurants. In the other direction, the traditional village of Gavalochori is a pleasant 12 minute walk, where you will find 3 tavernas, several bars, a coffee-house (open until late at night for delicious cakes and pastries), 2 mini-markets, a women's co-operative (for hand-made goods) and historic Roman Wells.
All bedrooms have balconies, with spectacular and uninterrupted open views of the surrounding valleys, mountains and some have sea views. The large pool is surrounded by a large sun terrace of at least 100 square metres so you have ample space to dine, relax and swim in comfort.
Parents! Our pools are fenced at gates to help you control access to the water, assisting the safety of toddlers and young children. As far as we are aware, no other villas in the area have similar safety features!
