A weekly maid service is included for stays of more than one week.
Towels and linen are provided, although guests should bring their own beach/pool towels.
The resident owners keep an adjacent villa for their own use.
Facilities are for the sole use of guests.
A complimentary welcome pack of groceries is provided on arrival.
Car hire is recommended - please enquire for rates.
Utility costs in winter are not included. Pool heating is not included from 1Nov to 31 Mar but is available on request at an extra cost.
There is a 10% surcharge for use of a sofabed for an extra person.

This apartment is part of a unique house which is divided into five separate, self-contained units: a large two bedroomed upstairs apartment (Geminada), two ground floor apartments each with two bedrooms (Cacto and Novo), an upstairs one bedroomed apartment (Boa Vista) and a ground floor one bedroomed apartment (Colina). Boa Vista is accessed by a private indoor staircase. It has one twin bedroom with air conditioning, living/dining area with patio doors onto a private patio overlooking the gardens, open plan fully equipped kitchen, a sofabed for a third person (although not ideally suited to 3 adults as the bathroom is en suite to the main bedroom) and a large bathroom with bath, separate shower and twin washbasins.
Inside the gates, the house is approached by a long gravel driveway lined with trees, at the end of which there is plenty of parking space. The land is well fenced and hedged and the property is surrounded by mature gardens and colourful flower boxes with a large area of lawn and a gorgeous palm tree towards which all the apartments face. Beyond a rockery boasting some enormous cacti is the orchard which contains a variety of trees including oranges, lemons, grapefruit, walnuts, pomegranate, plums and more. These are offered complimentary to all guests, as are home grown vegetables , when in season.
The heated pool (10 x 5m, max depth 1.8m) is surrounded by both terraced and grassed sunbathing areas with sun umbrellas, chairs and comfortable sun loungers from which to relax and enjoy the unspoilt views towards the Monchique hills. There is also a shaded picnic area next to the pool which is ideal for outdoor dining.
Golf club getaways, family reunions and even wedding parties are all welcome at Quinta Bavaria.
The resident English owners, Colin and Sue, keep a sixth apartment for themselves. They are on hand if needed, but all the facilities are for the sole use of guests.
The long sandy stretch of Meia Praia beach is within a few minutes' drive as is the scenic Palmares Golf Course.
Local activities within a 10 minute drive include horse riding, tennis, golf, bowls, sailing, boat trips, dolphin watching, deep sea fishing, jeep safaris, scuba diving and microlighting, to mention but a few. The countryside immediately surrounding the Quinta is a paradise for birdwatchers and walkers alike. |
