Puerto Rey has a fine blue flag beach just a few minutes from the apartment, with 11kms of uncrowded sand. Within walking distance of the apartment there is an aquapark (open during the summer season).
There are many good places to eat in the area and there is a vast choice; Chinese, Argentinian, (the steaks are the best), English, Italian and of course Spanish.
For golf lovers there are several very good courses nearby. The prestigious Desert Springs is only 6 or 7 miles away. Even if you are not a golf fan it is well worth a visit, for a coffee or lunch.
Gurrucha is just along the coast. This is a lovely fishing port, they have a very good market every Friday, and excellent fish restaurants. Late afternoon when the fishing boats come in, it’s fascinating to go and watch the fish being auctioned to the local restaurateurs.
Vera is a typical Spanish town, with some wonderful old buildings and narrow streets. Visit the restored bullring, where bull fights still take place, or the large weekly market held every Saturday.
Mojacar Player is a nice family resort about 4 miles along the coast with plenty of bars, restaurants, ice-cream parlours, beach bars and a long promenade for a relaxing stroll by the sea. The many activities in this area include microlighting, horse riding, quad biking, banana boats etc etc.
Mojacar Pueblo is the white village that is built on a hill, with its very steep and narrow roads and lanes, this is a must to visit. There is a weekly market here also, on Wednesdays.
There are many places of interest within a short drive, Mini Hollywood where the Clint Eastwood films The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, A fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More were made, (hence spaghetti westerns), there is also an excellent zoo there.
Sorbas, a few miles away, is renowned for its pottery and you can go and see it being made. Nearby are gypsum caves that can be visited - that is quite an adventure.
The choice is yours, burn up some energy or just have a quiet relaxing holiday.

| The apartment is light and airy, ideal for a relaxing holiday. There is a large terrace overlooking the pool area with patio furniture and sun loungers. The pool is open all year round. The kitchen is enclosed and fully equipped and leads out on to the rear terrace. There is also a roof solarium. Beach chairs and a beach umbrella for use on the beach are in the apartment. Car hire is advisable as there are many places of interest to visit. There are many golf courses in the near vicinity including the premier Desert Springs course, so if you would like a golfing holiday you are spoilt for choice and we also provide a full set of golf clubs for your use. |
