Moraira is situated in the beautiful mountainous area of the Costa Blanca, and lies in a bay, on the South Eastern coast of Spain, between the larger resorts of Javea and Calpe, the surrounding area has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, with beautiful and unspoilt scenery and many small villages to explore. There are also some larger resorts nearby that are easily reached by car that are well worth visiting: Javea, Calpe, Denia and Altea are all within 15km, while Benidorm is about 30km away. Moraira enjoys a typical subtropical Mediterranean climate, with cool sea breezes in summer and protection by surrounding mountains against the cold North winds in winter. The area averages nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature easily exceeds 20 degrees. In 1986 the World Health Organisation recommended the climate of the area as one of the most equitable in the world - neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in the winter. On average it can boast 325 sunny days each year making it an ideal all year round destination.
Once a sleepy fishing village, Moraira has grown into a small yet charming and picturesque town It is now an attractive holiday and retirement resort retaining its considerable charm that attracts visitors from all over Europe and is particularly popular with Spanish from Madrid and Valencia. It has an impressive marina, excellent variety of local shops, weekly open markets, harbour-side fish restaurants and bars still retaining their Spanish character. The main hub of life is beside the pretty yacht marina offering a good selection of restaurants and bars where you can sit outside and watch the world go by. A charming square still retains much of the original character and atmosphere and is home to the local church. There are restaurants, bars and several interesting shops lining the narrow cobbled streets. In the high season, the town comes alive in the evenings with locals and visitors alike.
This little town also has its own popular wide, gently shelving sandy beach with shallow waters and a smaller beach in the adjacent hamlet of El Portet. Both beaches were awarded the prestigious EEC Blue Flags for cleanliness and are safe for family bathing; both are also served by beach bars and restaurants that serve drinks, snacks and main meals. It is also well worth exploring the many other coves and bays along the coast with sand or sand/rock beaches.
If you like open markets then, apart from the weekly Friday market held next to the beach, you could plan a visit to the various markets held at nearby resorts for each day of the week! Apart from the buzzing activity you would see cheap fresh fruit and vegetables, local specialities, herbs and spices, leather goods, clothes, rugs, fresh and silk flowers, souvenirs, pottery and a whole variety of other goods.
There are many places of interest to see on day excursions, apart from the other coastal resorts of Javea, Calpe, Denia, Altea, Benidorm, Villajoyosa and Alicante there is also the spectacular scenery to see inland including the wonderful mountain-top fortress of Guadalest, the Vergal Safari Park near Denia, Europe’s largest palm forest at Elche and the ancient city of Murcia. Valencia (third largest city in Spain) is one and a half hours away and Barcelona (second largest) and the capital Madrid are four hours away, all reached by motorway. Spain’s answer to Euro Disney, Port Adventura near Barcelona, is about four and a half hours away. The famous `Lemon train has also to be experienced as it has been described as one of the great train journeys of Europe, running between Alicante and Denia

The Casa is a traditional Spanish finca that has been fully restored and modernised to offer the traveller every consideration for that perfect luxury family vacation, yet the owners have retained all of the charm that bygone Iberian home, with every eye to detail and no expense spared to any part of the house, the house is totally enclosed, therefore making it perfect for the safety of children
The house boasts many luxurious amenities, to the rear of the property we have, a large private and enclosed garden area, which is host to a vast array of palm trees to shade you during the day, a large private floodlit pool, enclosed wood chipped children’s play area and gardens for those romantic Iberian nights under the stars!!
Outdoor shower and BBQ areas, 2 palm covered private outdoor heated massage Jacuzzi spas, large open terraces to the upper and lower accommodation, sun beds and seating for up to 14 persons, and many sun blinds and canopies to escape the heat of the Mediterranean sun, also for those sun worshippers, a large open roof terrace accessed directly from inside the house, offering the best views, and ultimate peace, this level is kitted out as an outdoor gymnasium.
To the front elevation of the property, we have large, floodlit Italian style gardens with tropical fauna, and private off road parking for up to 3 vehicles, with easy wheelchair access to accommodation at this level.
The accommodation is set over two levels, of the finca, with there being a total of 7/8 bedrooms, the house can sleep 13 /15 persons, or two large families. The house also has 2 lounges, and 2 bath/shower rooms. To the upper level we have a fully self contained super large 3 bed roomed unit, with one large room with double bed, and full hot and cold air conditioning, and large walk in wardrobe, one single bedroom, and a further single bedroom that will convert to a double if needed, again full air con, 1 full bathroom, kitchen with all amenities, including oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, and also of course, large fridge freezer.
To the large open plan lounge there is a large screen television, with English satellite coverage, dvd/cd player, with surround sound, and super large comfortable sofas for those relaxing nights after the long sunny days, also to the lounge we have full hot and cold air conditioning…This level enjoys a large terrace from the lounge, which may be fully covered by sun blinds to escape the afternoon sun, to the side of the house is a further terrace accommodating a large table with seating for 4 persons, caribbean style cabana with outdoor bar, and full size pool table.
On the lower level, we have a very large four bed roomed separate unit, with bathroom, 2 large large rooms with double beds, 1 room with bunk bed unit, and 1 bedroom with twin single beds. This unit has a separate lounge, with English satellite TV, and DVD player, this unit is also equipped to the same high standard as the upper floors, with all kitchen amenities, and fine furnishings, and air con to all rooms. To the exterior on this level, we also have a further large table with seating for 16 persons, located beside the crystal clear pool.. The house also has irons and boards, washing machine, and tumble dryer.
Extra persons may be accommodated on foldaway beds…
