Costa de la Luz or "Coast of light" is an uncrowded area of Andalucia that offers a true insight into the real Spain.
Nuevo Portil enjoys excellent weather all year round (13c to 30c) and over 300days of sunshine a year, is ideally placed for visiting the area's attractions. These include the truly beautiful city of Seville and the Coto de Donana National Park. the Sierra de Aracena, and Jerez.
Huelva, 18kms away has a wide variety of shopping and on the outskirts at La Rabida you can visit the monument to Columbus.
The area is ideal for golfers with a wide variety of courses. Casa Azul overlooks fairway 4 of the Nuevo Portil(5,841 metres par 71) golf course. El Rompidio (6,148 metres par 72) 2nd course under construction is a 5 minute drive away.The Islantilla 27 hole championship course is only 15 minutes drive and many other courses within a 30 minute drive.
Golf on the Costa de La Luz is less crowded and less busy than the neighbouring Costa del Sol and the Algarve,making it easier to secure the start time you want and green fees are lower.
Shopping
Nearest supermarket, hot bread shop,ice cream parlour and restaurant 10 minutes on foot,
larger supermarkets can be found in Cartaya 10 minutes by car or hypermarkets in Huelva.
At the small complex in El Rompidio you will find several designer boutiques.
Huelva has an El Corte Ingles department store and a paved street with a good selection of shops.
Many of the towns host regular markets.
Restaurants
Pizzeria and Spanish restaurants in walking distance of Casa Azul.
Along the coast in El Rompidio you will find some very popular fish restaurants to sample the local catch.
