Cortijo Los Olivos with its large pool is set a little above the road connecting the pretty white villages of Sayalonga and Cómpeta. From the spacious terrace you have an excellent view to Sayalonga and one of the other small mountain villages called Corumbela. On clear nights one can easily see the bay at Torre del Mar and the lights of the ships and fishing boats on the Mediterranean.

One of the famous white villages of the Axarquia, Cómpeta glistens against the impressive backdrop of the Sierras. It retains its old world character as typified by the traditional municipal market, but offers modern facilities including several small supermarkets, bakeries, chemists, banks, swimming pool and an excellent hotel as well as some small pensions.
Narrow streets wind around the village making a delightful place to take a stroll past the old houses with their flower filled balconies and perhaps stop for a small refreshment at one of the charming local bars.
Set in one of the most beautiful parts of Spain, Cómpeta is approximately 17 km inland from Torre Del Mar and Nerja and only one hours drive from Malaga Airport.
Many places of interest are within driving distance. They include the underground caverns at Nerja, the yacht marina at Marbella, the city of Malaga with its many shops and concert venues. History is all around, Moorish architecture in the villages and Moorish watchtowers on the coast not to mention the famous Alhambra in Granada.
Only by a visit can you experience the timeless feeling of this wonderful area. To watch the goatherd tend his charges on the hillsides, the old men travelling out to their fincas on mules or sitting in the village square chatting or playing dominoes and the ladies having a gossip on their doorsteps makes you forget the rush and bustle and enjoy a step back in time to when life was lived at a more relaxing pace.
