This gite occupies the ground floor of the old stone built farmhouse which was renovated in 1991 and extensively improved in 2000 with tiled floors throughout. The gite faces the central green of the farmstead. The original stone fireplace is preserved and houses a wood burning fire. The front door leads directly to the private patio and garden with BBQ.

Domaine de la Hamberie is a 17th Century Normandy farm in the fertile lower Calvados region of France. Set in seven acres of unspoilt countryside, the farm has plenty of room to roam, with gardens, fields, wildlife areas, a huge indoor play area and a solar-heated swimming pool.
The property is situated near to Falaise, the birthplace of William the Conqueror and the scene of the final battle of Normandy in 1944. The picturesque Suisse Normandie and miles of fine sandy beaches are within an hours drive. Deauville, Honfleur, Bayeux and Mont St Michel are within easy reach.
The Calvados region offers a diverse range of leisure pursuits, for the serious loafer to the serious sports person. The local fishing is considered among the best in France, or try the new swimming and leisure pool in Falaise. Try walking or cycling in the beautiful countryside, or visit the Hypermarket in Caen for some retail therapy. There are cannoes on the river orne, go-karts, horse racing, and many other ways to spend a great holiday in Normandy.
For the little ones, Festyland, one of the many attractions of this area,is a theme park with rides and a petting zoo aimed at younger children. The older children can try out the bungee jumps, canoeing, karting, horse riding, cycling and activity centres in the area. We just do not do boredom here!

Domaine de la Hamberie is ideal for families, large or small. It is quiet and private and can also accommodate family gatherings. We can offer great golfing deals and fishing is very popular in this area. The story of the battle of Normandy in WW2 is told in many museums and memorials in this area, not forgetting the thousands of white crosses in the military cemetries which tell their own heartrending stories.
