La Pared is a haven with no high-rise buildings or noisy discos. It has a beautiful golden sandy beach (Playa del Viejo Rey) with excellent surf, another beach with black volcanic stones, two excellent restaurants, a shop, a surf school and pitch & putt golf course.

For calm seas, kite surfing and nightlife, there is a short, ten minute drive to the east coast of the island. The airport is 50 minutes’ drive away. The village has a very favourable climate, with average approximate air temperatures in January of 20°C and in August of 25°C. Although it can get hot in summer, the north-east Trade Winds ensure a steady cooling breeze in July and August. There are a wide range of outdoor pursuits available nearby, including walking, swimming, surfing, wind-surfing, horse riding, golf, quad-biking, off-roading, deep-sea angling, catamaran and submarine trips. Although there is a bus service, a hire car is strongly recommended.
