Montagnac, a village of 3000 inhabitants is situated 43km west of Montpellier in the center of southern France at 12km from the nearest beach. This is a wine growing region with a landscape very like Provençe. The area has a lot of historical and cultural interest and a month would be needed to enjoy it thoroughly. Nimes, Arles, Pont du Gard, Aiges Mort, Avignon, Roquefort, Carcassonne, Montpellier, Beziers, Pézenas, Abbey de Vallemagne, Pyrennean mountains, Cevenne hills, Cathare castles, Roman and Celtic relics, Mediterranean beaches, Fishing villages etc, etc. Montagnac itself is a citadel dating from the middle ages. It has plenty of shops, banks, parking etc and café terraces on the shady esplanade. The apartment is 50m from the esplanade entered by a Renaissance stairway in a private courtyard. All necessities are provided, with a simple but adequate kitchen, washer, tub, bedding etc. We ask you to leave it as you find it.
