Bagneres de Luchon is a spa town set in the French Pyrenees. It is an excellent centre for outdoor activities such as walking, skiing, paragliding and cycling (cycles can be hired in Luchon).
At the foot of the ski slopes of Superbagneres (1800m) in the French Pyrenees the town is approximately 500 metres above sea level, and 140 kilometres (87 miles) southwest of Toulouse which has an international airport (TLS). Col de Viehla (Spanish boarder) is 20 kilometres (12.5 miles) away and Auch is 120 kilometres (75 miles). This makes fly drive a convenient option. Alternatively the train will take you within five minutes walk of the apartment.
After a great day skiing, walking or cycling you'll discover the charm of this mountain village and perhaps revitalize yourself at the hot thermal spa. In the evening enjoy the resorts mountain hospitality in the cinema, bars, restaurants, shops or even the Casino. In summer the excellent outdoor public swimming pool is open.

| The Pyrenees Mountains straddle the border between Southern France and Northern Spain and stretch for about 400km. There are more than 200 summits that exceed 2,000 metres in altitude the highest of which is Pico d’Anato at 3400 metres. Their diverse scenery makes them an excellent area for all levels of walking and cycling. Also there is canoeing, climbing and paragliding as well as the more gentle pursuits such as bird watching, painting etc. |
