Turkey > Mediterranean Region > Dalyan > Mugla
Villa Limon is situated on the edge of Dalyan Town and is only a four minute Taxi or Dolmus (bus) ride into the centre of Dalyan. Bus stop is at the top of villa road. There is also a small shop at the end of the road.
Beach
Close to Dalyan lies the five km long sandbar that juts out from the main land into the Mediterranean. This site was earmarked for development until it was brought to the authorities attention that it was one of the last nesting grounds for the endangered Loggerhead Turtle.
Things to do
There are many things to do in Dalyan, including Boat Trips, Sailing, Turtle Spotting, Turkish Baths, Adventure Tours, Microlight Flights, Diving & Snorkeling and visiting the ancient ruins of Caunos. The town sits on the Dalyan river fed by the local mountain streams that converge on the Koycegiz lake. Locals and tourists alike can enjoy the natural Mud Baths and Thermal Springs at the side of the lake, then meander through the maze of reed beds, passing the ancient Rock Tombs carved into the side of the mountain 3000 years ago. The river opens onto the beautiful Iztuzu Beach, better known as Turtle Beach where the gently shelving beach is home to the endangered Loggerhead turtle as well as much bird life.
Dalyan
Dalyan itself is a relatively small town, unspoilt by the booming bars which have taken over some of the larger resorts. The town remains relatively undiscovered and unspoilt, thus retaining the friendliness and local colour sought by many. However, there is a large number of bars and restaurants to choose from in the village centre - sufficient to cater for every one's taste. Being smaller, Dalyan retains much of its original charm and has a village community feel, and during the evenings the main part of the village centre is closed to motorised traffic for pedestrian safety. The local transport (dolmus) is cheap, clean and reliable, but for those wanting a little more independence there is always the alternative of car hire, taxis or bicycles, all of which are readily available, but can be organised by us on your behalf if you wish.
The local attractions and activities in Dalyan are too numerous to list here, but details can be obtained by clicking through our links. Car hire is available, but not essential. You can get anywhere in Dalyan or surrounding areas by good, cheap and frequent public transport (bus or boat). |

Ancient Rock Tombs
Theses tombs are the resting places of the kings of Caunos. They are carved in the style of Lycian rock tombs. There are two types of tomb to be found in Dalyan. Simple chambers, cut in to the rock face like a room and more elaborate temple tombs.
The local transport (dolmus) is cheap, clean and reliable, but for those wanting a little more independence there is always the alternative of car hire, taxis or bicycles, all of which are readily available, but can be organised by us on your behalf if you wish. |
