Pettenasco Lake Orta Pettenasco is surrounded by a delightful landscape and lies in the midst of delightful and varied mountain country shank, up of lago d'Orta (100m) apart from the mass tourism. This wonderful little lake (Lago d'Orta in Italian, Lacus Cusius in Roman times) is still little known outside Italy, even though it is the "next lake along" from Lake Maggiore. There are several small beaches on Lake Orta The whole area is extremely well serviced by shops and restaurants here are many places to visit in the local area ts of wonderful places for day trips for adults and children, great walks, and a good selection of sporting and other local activities are available. It lies in the foothills of the Alps, with low hills at the south end of the lake, but higher mountains at the north end (the Mottarone, which lies between Lakes Orta and Maggiore, is just under 1500 metres - great view of seven lakes, by the way!), and with views of the more distant Alpine peaks.

Cottage inside:
The cottage is on 2 floors, both with groundfloor entrance, since is set in terraced grounds overlooking the Lake. It comfortably sleeps 5/7. On request can be rented a studio, that sleeps 2, detached but just beside. Weekly prices indicated are for max 5 people. See detailed info below. Wonderful lake view. Groundfloor: living with fire place, large open kitchen, dining area and direct acess to the garden with barbecue. Bathroom with shower, washing machine. 1st floor: double bed room, twin bedded room with arm chair bed, bathroom with shower, living with sofa bed and acess to the courtyard. From the courtyard acess to the studio that sleeps 2.
Steps and then a path of about 500 mtres lead down to the banks of the lake. Ideal place for bathing in a very small secluded inlet. The largest beach is about 800 mres away. In Pettenasco. Parking possible about 150 mt from the house since the road finishes about 200 mt before the villa entrance.
