Garfagnana – Media Valle del Serchio is an area of north western Tuscany, located in the Province of Lucca. In this marvellous setting we have recently restored and refurbished a group of farmhouses. Our houses enjoy a wonderful position on a sunny hill, at 450 m. asl, surrounded by chestnuts and thorn trees.

Bagni di Lucca is about 5 kms. away and a nice tourist resort, where you will find all general stores, shops, and sport centers (public swimming pool, tennis courts, etc.) and a beautiful spa, known during the 18th and 19th centuries as a beloved holiday or residence destination of personalities and artists like Byron, Shelley, Puccini, Metternich and Radestsky. Traces of this glorious past are its monuments: the English Church, the Catene bridge, the Spa, the villas, the Casino, etc. Enjoy beautiful walks, bicycle or horse rides on the surrounding hills, which are full of churches and Roman parishes: Pieve and S.Cassiano di Controne, S.Pietro in Corsena, Montefegatesi, Casabasciana and Vicopancellorum. Nearby, Borgo a Mozzano and the Maddalena Bridge, better known as the Devil’s Bridge, Barga with its typical historical centre, Coreglia Antelminelli and its Museum of Plaster Figures and Emigration. Lucca (about 27 kms.), Pisa (about 55kms.) and the close Tyrrhenian coast, (or Versilia beaches about 40kms.) offer further cultural artistic and eno-gastronomical diversions.

As it was 150 years ago, Casa Ciesa consists of three apartments. Casa Ciesa is the al numero 4 is located at civic number 4, has three levels, is about 105sm. in total and can accommodate from 2 up to 5+1 people. On the ground floor, a living room with fireplace, a separate WC under the stairs and a bright kitchen with view over the wonderful surrounding nature. On the first floor two double bedrooms. A garret on the last floor with low doors (1,60m.) but high ceilings, which provides a bath with shower and a double bedroom with small double bed. Outside an exclusive garden (500sm.) within a stone's throw from our house equipped with garden furniture.
Casa Ciesa al numero 4 is located in a nice quite secluded place at the edges of an old hamlet of nearly 100 inhabitants. A narrow road drivable with small cars crosses it. All cars are preferably to be parked on the public square of the hamlet, at a 150 meters asphalted distance from our house, to be covered on foot.
Our hamlet offers neither groceries nor bars, but some can be found in the hamlets nearby (about 2kms) or in Bagni di Lucca (5 kms). On request, on the day of your arrival we can arrange for you a welcome dinner. Natural honey production in the vicinity.
