The local village is one of the most spectacular bastide towns, Villereal, set in a group of other renowned medieval bastides and villages such as Issigeac, Beaumont, Monpazier, Monflanquin. It is 25 kilometers from Bergerac, accessible by flights from the UK. Other large towns are Cahors, Duras, Perigueux, Villeneuve sur Lot, Agen. There are many activities throughout the year in all of the towns and villages with festivals celebrating local events and produce. The area has appeal to all ages with many sports facilities, entertaining museums, music festivals, wine, undulating countryside, sunflowers, neolithic cave paintings, great rivers for swimming and canoeing, amusement and adventure parks, lakes and accessibility to the Atlantic coast. The weather is gentle and hot in the summer with beautiful light and sunsets.
