Spain > Valencia (Costa Blanca) > Costa Blanca > Torrevieja Area > La Marina La Marina is a fantastic location for a great holiday suitable for families and couples of all ages. The famous beautiful "blue flag" beaches of La Marina are a 5 minute drive away. The towns of Guardamar, Santa Pola and Elche (the palm tree capital of Europe) are 10 to 15 minutes drive away and are well worth a visit for shopping and sight seeing. The front at Alicante is only 20 minutes away and has a wonderful marina, a floodlit castle overlooking the bay and every conceivable type of cuisine is catered for. The shops in Alicante are very good and of course the famous El Corte Ingles is a must visit. For the kids the place to go is Terra Mitica. It is a large theme park near Benidorm (60 minutes away). It is themed into different worlds and the rides are great. Torrevieja is 20 minutes away and has great water parks. For nightlife Torrevieja has it all with its casinos, clubs, restaurants and bars and during the day there are excellent shops, a marina and a bustling port with ‘Hippy Market’ and fun fair. La Marina has 2 weekly market days, Thursday and Sunday and are definitely worth a visit. A car is not necessary for your holiday in La Marina, transports from the airport can be arranged and local transport is superb. The bungalow itself is a 5 minute walk from bars, restaurants, shops, banks, market etc. The La Marina Sports Complex is less than 5 minutes away and has a fabulous pool. There is also nightly entertainment. Wonderful location for a wonderful holiday, most people do book to come back again.
