Coy Seading, Crathes is about 16 miles inland of Aberdeen, to the north of the River Dee, and about 4 miles east of the town of Banchory. Banchory has an abundance of banks, restaurants, shops and small supermarkets. Coy is surrounded by fields and trees and only has 10 neighbours within a half-mile radius.
The house is within walking distance (1.5miles) of Crathes Castle, one of Scotland's top visitor attractions. A host of other castles and historic sites and attractions are within easy driving distance. The area also offers many opportunities for outdoor pursuits, with easy access to the Grampian Mountains and Cairngorm National Park, the Moray coast to the north and the Aberdeenshire coast to the east. The Speyside whisky trail, Victorian heritage trail, as well as the Castle trail, are all close by.
