Situated on a newly-completed development, which looks down on the seaside town of Rincon de la Victoria, we are an easy half-hour drive from Malaga airport, and less than five minutes from the typical Andalusian village of Benagalbon, with its pretty, whitewashed church, houses and restaurants. We overlook Anoreta golf course, where you can book a round of golf, or just enjoy the clubhouse restaurant or the tapas bar - which is a two minute walk from the house. You will find over 40 more superb golf courses along the Costa del Sol.
The beach at Rincon de la Victoria is long & sandy, and the walk along the front, which passes through tunnels carved in the rocks, will take you past tapas bars and beach restaurants, offering great seafood and local wines. There is another famous beach promenade ten minutes up the coast at Torre del Mar, where you will also find the water park Aqua Velis, with over 20 rides and slides, and paddle pool for young children.
Tivoli World at nearby Torremolinos is a large theme park with rides, concerts, flamenco displays and restaurants. The region offers a diverse variety of entertainment, including boat & ferry trips, cable car rides, balloon rides, horse riding, gardens, theatres and nightlife at the coastal resorts.
The historic town of Nerja, flanked by the Sierra Almijar mountain range is an easy drive away, and boasts 16km of beaches and small coves, with powdery sand & clear, sparkling water. All water sports are available, including skiing, scuba diving and sailing. The town remains unspoilt, and can be explored in a horse-drawn carriage ride. The old quarter is virtually unchanged, with narrow, winding streets and pretty whitewashed houses .
Further inland you will find traditional Spanish towns and villages, and of course, the city of Malaga itself has a lively cultural centre, celebrating the region's art, history, food and wine.
The city of Granada is about an hour and a half's drive away, in the mountainous region of the Sierra Nevada, famous for it's National Park, which is home to Europe's most southerly ski resort, Solynieve. The winter sport season normally extends from November to April, and as well as skiers and snowboarders, the area is popular with hikers, climbers and bird-watchers.
