A beautifully restored house nestled amongst olive and almond groves in the heart of Andalucia. Casa Vieja provides the perfect tranquil holiday environment with stunning scenery and even sea views.

Local activities could include walking, mountain-biking, horse riding (lessons can be arranged), birdwatching and swimming of course! Casa Vieja is located within just a 2 minute drive to the village of Los Ventorros where you will find a shop and a Spanish owned bar and restaurant, perfect for refreshments and meals. Comares village is a 5 minute drive from the property, a stunning white washed little village and in fact the highest in the whole of the Axarquia region with a relaxed attitude to life. Village shops will cater for every day needs and there are several bars serving good tapas, meals and local wine. You will also find a bank, post office, pharmacy, tobacconist and of course stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Town facilities, including a modern shopping centre, multi screen cinema, street market and water park are found in Velez Malaga, around a 30 min drive.
Exploring Andalucia; Casa Vieja makes a good country base for visiting the most popular sights of Andalucia. Granada and the Alambra Palace are just over 1 hour away by car. The Sierra Nervada ski resort is a short drive from the city of Granada. Seville is well worth a visit at around 2 hours drive. Cordoba is a similar drive and Malaga is a city of culture, beaches and great shopping and is just 1 hour by car. Nerja and its famous caves is a great family day of entertainment.

Travel Malaga airport is a 50 min drive approx and Grananda airport approx 1hour 30 minute drive. A car is recommended to enjoy the area fully. Car hire is easy and inexpensive, we have a membership with a local company which enables you to receive a 15% discount. Several budget airlines operate to and from Malaga and Grananda. A daily bus service runs from Los Ventorros to Malaga City.
Golf There are 3 Golf Courses within 1 hours drive. Baviera 18 hole public course is just a 30 min drive.
Coast / Beach The Mediterranean coast is 35 minutes drive through spectacular scenery passing groves of avocado citrus trees. Torre Del Mar has a long sandy beach with many small beach bar/ restaurants right on the sand. Here and at Velez Malaga, the nearest market town, you will find all types of eateries, bike hire, Go-karts, a water park and the fishing harbour and marina at Caleta De Velez. |

This "Old House" has been restored to a comfortable standard whilst retaining the typical Andalucian rustic style features of tiled floors and wooden shuttered windows etc. Casa Vieja has 3 private terraces, one of which leads from the master bedroom, all with panoramic views over mountains of olive and almond groves. Additionally there are sunbathing areas within the established gardens with a large swimming pool with both shallow and deep end.
Casa Vieja affords a high degree of privacy with its own entrance, whilst the owners accommodation adjoins the rear of the property.
Casa Vieja is approached from the Malaga road down a short driveway with parking outside the property on a gravel driveway.
Saturday is the preferred change over day with flexibility out of season. For late Saturday arrivals we do recommend you bring some simple provisions for breakfast on Sunday as all supermarkets are closed until Monday morning.

Water -We recommend our guests to drink bottled water which can be brought locally and cheaply.
Mosquitoes - During our hottest months there are mosquitoes around and we do recommend you bring some repellent.
