USA > Florida > South West Florida > South Fort Myers The house is located on a small residential development (the closest new development to the beach!). Our neighbours are mostly American families who live there all the time, giving the area a well cared for look and feel. The house itself is more than a rental property - it is our home in America and we hope it will feel like that to whoever stays in it. The house is fully equipped with everything we think you could need whilst on holiday. We are, however, always open to suggestions! There is no shortage of bars, restaurants and supermarkets in the vicinity of the house, with an even greater choice available if you drive towards Fort Myers City itself. There you will find an indoor shopping mall (it does rain sometimes), a 20 screen cinema complex and 2 theatres as well as the homes of Henry Ford and Thomas Edison which are open to the public. Fort Myers Beach can be whatever you want it to be - fun, lively, young-at-heart, or drive to Bowditch at the end of the beach and enjoy peace and tranquility, but still have access to "essential facilities". Sanibel and Captiva are a very short drive away. Here you will find many excellent, up-market restaurants and more casual dining. The shops are great to wander around too. The beautiful city of Naples is approximately 1 hour drive. We have one outlet mall just minutes from the house, and another larger outlet mall just 10 miles south on I75. For wildlife lovers the area is a must. The lake at the rear of the property keeps us amused all day as we watch the various types of heron, stork, raptor, etc and look out for the alligator. There are numerous wildlife sanctuaries within a short drive and Corkscrew and Ding Darling are particularly worth a visit, plus of course the airboat ride through the mangroves.
