The hamlet is in the heart of the Chianti Classico area at about 13 Km from Gaiole in Chianti, one of the main wine producing small towns together with Radda and Greve. It is 29 km from Siena and Florence is a 50 minutes drive away. Both Florence and Pisa airports are easily accessible by car or train. The main A1 motorway is a half hour drive from the borgo, to the S. Giovanni Valdarno exit.
Both Siena and Florence offer world class cultural attractions. There are also many other small medieval and Renaissance towns within easy reach of the “borgo” such as S. Gimignano, Montepulciano and Pienza. Many wine producing estates such as Castello di Brolio or Cantine Ricasoli are a short drive away. The woods around offer good trekking and mountain biking paths.
Throughout the year there are various wine festivals in May-June and most famously the Chianti festival in September in Greve.
During May Florence hosts a music festival ” The Maggio Musicale” and there are concerts throughout the year in Siena at the Accademia Chigiana and several other small ones throughout the region.
