It benefits of a temperate climate throughout the year with very high temperatures during summer months. The area is perfect for those who seek a quiet and restful holiday whilst being within easy access of the sandy beaches, the nearest being Mimizan Plage, and the Lakes of the Landes (approx. 25 mns. by car). The house is situated within 5 minutes to the centre of the village in proximity of all commerce, i.e. bakery, shops, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, railway station, banks, post office, and medical centre. An open air market is held every Sunday in the centre square. Other attractions include the Photographic Museum of Felix Anaudin. The village itself is an important staging post on the route of Saint Jacques de Compostelle. At 5 Km in the neighbouring village of Commensacq the outdoor activity site of Mexico offers Kayaking and canoeing on the river Leyre, 4 Km further lies the village of Sabres and the Eco- museum of Marqueze and its little train. A must to visit the glass blowing workshop at Pisos. Le Picolo is within one hour of the thermal resorts of Dax and Cambo-les-Bains, and towards the coast lies the beautiful resorts of Biarritz, Saint-Jean-de-Luz and the Spanish Frontier. A further 20 minutes from the frontier is the historic resort of San-Sebastian. To the east the Ski Slopes of the Pyrenees and to the North the Dunes of Pyla, Arcachon and the Chateaux and Vineyards of Bordeaux Various activities are available within a radius of 30 Kms.- Golf, cycling on tracks in the forest, horse riding, sailing, surfing and naturally swimming on the lakes or the sea The Landes is synonymous with foie gras, duck confit, cassoulet and its famous garbure and its fine Armagnac, not forgetting its famous course Landaise (running and jumping the cows) The property of 5,500 sq. metres is naturally enclosed with security gates to the front. The cottage of 80 Sq metres has:- A living room comfortably furnished with a bed settee and two armchairs, television, CD/DVD player and various indoor games i.e. cards, chess, backgammon, scrabble and many others. In the dining area there is a table, 4 chairs, 2 folding chairs and a high chair. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric cooker, a fridge, a dishwaher, a washing machine, a microwave, a kettle, coffee maker, liquidiser and juicer. There is also a walled telepone. Three bedrooms, 2 with double beds and one with 2 single beds. There is also a travel cot. A pushchair is available on request. A bathroom with bath/shower, wash basin and towel dryer. Independent WC. Electric heating throughout the house for winter use only. The covered terrace at the rear of the house has a table seating 8 and a barbecue. Madame Morel the Keyholder lives next door.

Le Picolo est localisé à l’orée du village de Labouheyre, entre Bordeaux et Bayonne au cœur de la forêt formant le Parc Naturel des Landes de Gascogne. Il bénéficie tout au long de l’année d’un climat tempéré avec des températures relativement élevées durant les mois d’été. C’est l’endroit idéal pour ceux qui recherchent des vacances calmes et reposantes tout en n’étant pas très éloigné des plages de sable et des lacs des Landes (environ 25 minutes en voiture). La maison est située à moins d’un kilomètre du centre du village et comporte des commerces de proximités tels que boulangerie, cafés, restaurants, supermarchés etc. Il possède aussi un bureau de poste, des banques, un centre médical, un cinéma et bien entendu une gare. Sur la grand place se tient chaque dimanche un marché de plein air. On y trouve aussi le musée de la photographie de Félix Anaudin. Le village lui-même est une halte importante sur la route de St. Jacques de Compostelle. Il est à moins d’une heure des stations thermales de Dax et Cambo-les-Bains et vers les villes balnéaires de Biarritz, St. Jean-de-Luz et de la frontière espagnole. Vingt minutes plus loin on atteint la ville historique de San Sebastien. Vers l’est ce sont les stations pyrénéennes de ski et au nord on atteint facilement la Dune du Pyla, Arcachon et les fameux châteaux des vignobles de Bordeaux. Plusieurs activités sportives sont praticables dans un rayon de 30 km : Golf, cyclisme sur les pistes en forêt, équitation, voile, surf et bien sûr les bains de mer ou de lac. Ne pas manquer non plus la visite de l’Éco Musée de Marquèze et son petit train. Les Landes sont synonymes de gastronomie : foie gras, confit de canard ou d’oie, cassoulet, garbure et tout proche le fameux Armagnac. Il ne faut pas oublier les fameuses courses de vaches landaises. La propriété se déploie sur 5500 m2 de terrain naturellement clos et sur l’avant un grillage avec une porte sécurisée. La maison de 80 m2 est entièrement chauffée à l’électricité et comprend : - Un living confortablement meublé d’un canapé-lit, de deux fauteuils, d’une télévision et d’un lecteur CD/DVD. Divers jeux de société sont à disposition (cartes, scrabble, backgammon, échec etc.). Le côté salle à manger comprend une table, 6 chaises dont 2 pliantes ainsi qu’une chaise haute pour bébé. - Une cuisine équipée d’une cuisinière électrique, d’un réfrigérateur, d’un lave vaisselle, d’un micro-onde et d’une machine à laver le linge. Sont aussi disponible une bouilloire, une cafetière électrique, une centrifugeuse légumes et fruits etc. Il y a aussi un téléphone mural. - Deux chambres avec lits doubles et placard, une chambre avec lits jumeaux ainsi qu’un lit pliant adulte et un lit bébé de voyage. Une poussette peut-être fournie à la demande. - Une salle de bain avec baignoire/douche, lavabo et sèche serviette. - Les WC sont indépendants. Vaisselle ainsi que linge de maison sont fournis. Une caution 250 euros sera demandé à l’arrivée et restitué à la fin du séjour. À l’arrière de la maison il y a une terrasse couverte dotée d’une table et de chaises pour 8 personnes et d’où l’on peut profiter de la vue panoramique du terrain engazonné. Sont aussi à disposition un barbecue, jeu de fléchettes, de pétanque et de badminton. La personne chargée de veiller sur la maison habite juste à côté. The Picolo is located at the edge of the village of Labouheyre, between Bordeaux and Bayonne in the heart of the forest forming the Natural Park Landes of Biscay. It enjoys throughout the year in a temperate climate with relatively high temperatures during the summer months. It is the ideal place for those who seek quiet and relaxing while not very far removed from the sandy beaches and lakes in the Landes (about 25 minutes by car). The house is located less than a kilometre from the centre of the village and includes businesses such as a bakery, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and so on. It also has a post office, banks, a medical centre, a cinema and of course a station. On the main square stands every Sunday an outdoor market. There is also the museum of photography Felix Anaudin. The village itself is a major stopover on the road to St. Jacques de Compostela. It is less than an hour spas Dax and Cambo-les-Bains to cities and resorts of Biarritz, St. Jean-de-Luz and the Spanish border. Twenty minutes later we reached the historic city of San Sebastian. The side dining room includes a table, 6 of which 2 folding chairs and a high chair for the baby. -- A kitchen equipped with an electric stove, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a microwave and a washing machine. Also available are a kettle, an electric coffeemaker, a centrifuge vegetables and fruits. There is also a wall phone. -- Two rooms with double beds and cupboard, a bedroom with twin beds and a cot adult and a cot travel. A stroller can be provided upon request. -- A bathroom with tub / shower, sink and towel dry. -- WC are independent. Cookware and household linen are provided. A deposit 250 euros will be asked upon arrival and returned at the end of stay. At the rear of the house there is a covered terrace with a table and chairs for 8 people and where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the field engazonné. Also available a barbecue, darts, bowls and badminton. The person responsible for watching over the house lives next door.
