Lamplugh is the perfect starting place to explore the fells, rivers, lakes and tarns of this beautiful part of the Lake District. There are a variety of walks right from the front door, or Loweswater Lake is just four miles away, with Buttermere and Crummock a mile or two beyond.
In the opposite direction is Ennerdale Lake with its forest walks and mountain biking.
The village pub (the Lamplugh Tip) is a mile and a half away. For shops, Cockermouth (just 7 miles away) has a Sainsbury's as well as a wide variety of smaller independent shops, pubs and cafes. The Kirkstile Inn at Loweswater (a few miles away) is renowned throughout the Lakes for the quality of its food and ales.
