Mar de Cristal is a village situated on the coast of the Mar Menor which is a large salt water lagoon. This unique lagoon offers warm tranquil waters which are shallow and is popular with families and those who enjoy watersports. There are many watersports you can try with good sailing schools close by. There are also other activities to suit all ages and these include horse riding, go-karting, tennis, golfing and a vast range of nautical sports. La Manga club is around 5 minutes by car and this offers numerous championship golf courses, tennis courts, spa facilities and many other activities so you can do as little or as much as you like on your holiday. Within the area are a choice of national and international cuisine at very reasonable prices so you will be spoilt for choice. Regardless of age, there is something for everyone here. The Mar Menor is also famous for The Black Mud which is said to have therapeutic qualities and helps in the treatment of rheumatism, arthritis and many other ailments. The area around the Mar Menor is quite flat which makes it ideal for walking and cycling.
