Turkey > Mediterranean Region > Kalkan Jasmine Villa is a privately designed and built house, perfectly located on a large, half acre plot right at the edge of the old centre of Kalkan. The Villa has extensive terracing and gardens at every level, both shaded and sunny, affording guests spectacular sea views or secluded shade, depending on their mood. The magnificent swimming pool is the largest private pool in Kalkan. All rooms in the Villa are air conditioned and floored in cool marble. The ground floor houses the bedroom and utility rooms, while the upper floor has a large 18'x15' lounge with comfy sofas and french windows leading out to the 2 roof terraces. Each has tables and chairs and an umbrella. Bedroom 1 (18'x12') has twin beds and looks out over the pool and the sea. Bedroom 2 (13'x12') has a double bed and looks out over the pool and the sea. Bedroom 3 (13'x10') has twin beds and mountain views. All bedrooms give onto the wide travertine terrace that surrounds the whole Villa and in turn down to the pool. The kitchen is at the rear with its own large terrace and cedar table for 10. It is fully equipped to cater for 10 guests. There is a family bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin at this level and a further shower room, washbasin and toilet downstairs. Jasmine Villa really comes into its own outside. The Villa is situated in a large half acre plot with house centrally placed and surrounding the huge (15mx7m) swimming pool. There are in excess of 300m2 of cool Travertine terraces at several levels around the Villa and pool, with places to enjoy full sun, sun-dappled or full shade, with many different places to set table and chairs and relax. The rest of the plot is planted with mature gardens which further enhance the secluded nature of the property. The views from the top terraces or the pool terraces over the bay and the islands are spectacular. The historic town of Kalkan is an enchanting place and one of the most beautiful locations along Turkey's gorgeous Lycian Coast. With the complete absence of mass tourism, Kalkan remains a charming and unspoiled haven of lush nature, brilliant blue crystal-clear sea, historic architecture, ancient history and warm traditional Turkish hospitality. Once a simple fishing village, today’s Kalkan is quietly sophisticated and postcard pretty with a few good quality low-rise hotels and apartments and a multitude of excellent roof-top restaurants offering all manner of culinary delights together with stylish and atmospheric Blues and Jazz bars. The village shops stay open until around midnight and are well stocked with interesting antiques, crafts, jewellery, clothing and accessories. The narrow streets twist down to the harbour, which is the focus of the village and here you can enjoy a meal whilst watching the world go by or looking at the array of elegant gulets, some of which are available for private hire. Kalkan is a very special place - first-time visitors will invariably return time and time again
