Trinidad And Tobago > Tobago > Castara
Tobago is simply a Caribbean delight with secluded beaches, tropical rain forests, wonderful bird life and very friendly locals!!! Here, nestled among the trees you can truly 'get away' and experience the character of local Tobagonian life.
The village of Castara is situated around a beautiful bay with 2 beaches: Big Bay and Heavenly Bay - a small hamlet.
Angel Apartments sit on the edge of a hill, a mere 30 metres stroll to the beautiful beach and warm turquoise Caribbean sea.
There are a few restaurants and bars dotted around Castara including the Boat House directly in front of Angel, where you can sample delicious Rum Punch! or visit Tree Tops and look out over the sea! |

Tobago is 41km long by 14km wide and home to the oldest protected rain forest in the Western Hemisphere. It is the last of the unspoilt Caribbean.
The land abounds with natural allure - palm-lines beaches, lush rain forests and pristine coral reefs teeming with rich marine life.
The capital of Tobago is Scarborough in the South of the island. Driving is on the right side of the road and English is the first language.
Local Attractions:
Fresh fish can be purchased from the local fishermen on a daily basis.
You must visit the ladies of the village on a Thursday and a Saturday when they bake bread and cakes in banana leaves in a clay oven on the beach.
Early mornings are a hive of activity both for the people of Tobago and its creatures. The Cocricro is one of Tobago's national birds and has a very distinctive sound.
Local Restaurants:
Although delightfully still in it's infancy for tourism, Tobago already boasts many excellent restaurants, some within walking distance of the apartments and many more within a 25 minute drive.
Nightlife:
Castara remains serenely quiet and peaceful during most of the year. However there are heritage festivals and the weekly unmissable 'Sunday School' - a real lively and fun night out.
There are also nearby bars and restaurants and for the special night out just a 25 minute drive will take you to the busier holiday hotels in the south of the island. |
