From the airport you take the bus to the Santa Maria Novella central Train Station and you've got to arrive at Santa Maria Novella Church, pass through Via Dei Fossi, and cross the Carraia bridge.
Via dei Serragli is a typical Florentine street, it is near Santo Spirito Church and in the morning there is the open market, from which you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables.
From the apartment it takes 5 minutes on foot to arrive at The Santo Spirito Church which is a Masterpiece of one of the masters of the Italian Renaissance, the architect Filippo Brunelleschi. At the Carmine Church is the Brancacci chapel, with the wall painting of Masaccio, another master of the Renaissance.
In 7 minutes on foot you can arrive at Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Museum, Piazza Della Signoria and at the Duomo.
The neighborhood has a number of good restaurants.
