The setting of this unique village is truly magnificent. With a backdrop of pine clad mountains, it is a picture to behold. The views on the run down to Turunc village with the turquoise sea and islands fading into the background would rival any in the world. This once thriving fishing village has now largely given way to providing wonderful holidays and there are plenty of varied restaurants, bars and shops, but the charm of this gem is that it has not lost its friendly and intimate "local" feel.
To the one side of the bay is a small harbour, lined with attractive boats and water taxis and for a small price you can experience an excursion along the spectacular coastline stopping at coves and bays for swimming and a barbeque lunch.
The beach which is lined with restaurants is very safe for children and has recently achieved the European Blue flag award.
No matter where you stay in Turunc you are never more that 10\15 mins away from the centre of activity, the beach, shops and watering holes.
A number of British nationals have settled here and English is widely spoken although it is evident that this still remains very much a Turkish village.
The locals are disarmingly friendly and make all visitors feel very welcome and are eager to share their village with the visiting families.
The climate is fabulous and the sun shines for about 300 days per year.
Turunc is not a place for nightlife but nearby Marmaris is only 20km away and has some of the largest clubs in the world.
