The village of Hope Cove nestles in the shelter of Bolt Tail in the curve of Bigbury Bay. With its charming thatched cottages, clean sandy beaches, and peaceful, relaxed atmosphere, Hope Cove offers the ideal holiday retreat. There are miles of delightful and varied scenery along this rugged Heritage Coastline.

The lovely old sailing town of Salcombe is only a few minutes away.

The cities of Plymouth and Exeter, the resorts of Torbay and the wild expanses of Dartmoor are only about an hours drive away. Within easy reach of 12 golf courses, tennis courts and riding. Fishing is available from the breakwater and rocks, or from a boat.

Hope Cove is an ideal location from which to sail your own boat, with an open beach, a slipway at Inner Hope. With the high number of shipwrecks in the locale, diving is also a popular sport for visitors to Hope Cove. The spectacular sunsets are not to be missed.

KINGSBRIDGE - approx. 15 MINUTES DRIVE
Lies at the head of the Kingsbridge Estuary, often referred to as the 'capital' of the South Hams. The Quay in Kingsbridge is where the weekly market, monthly Farmers Market and Sunday concerts take place. William Cookworthy, born in the town discovered China Clay in Cornwall to make the first true English Porcelain. There is a Museum dedicated to his life and work and rural life in South Devon. There are interesting Shops, Craft Markets Tuesdays and Fridays, Easter - December, Art Galleries, a Cinema and a large well-equipped Leisure Centre with Swimming Pool. Take the Rivermaid Ferry to Salcombe for a scenic cruise down the Estuary, watch out for fascinating Bird Life and occasionally Seals, Dolphins and Basking Sharks have been sighted. Sorley Tunnel Adventure Farm near Loddiswell is ideal for Children.

SALCOMBE - approx. 15 MINUTES DRIVE
One of the Southwest's best Sailing Centres, superb Sandy Beaches, Coastal Walks and interesting Shops. Many rare species of Marine Plants and Animals live in the Estuary in its sheltered waterways and mild climate. Visit Overbecks Museum and Subtropical Garden and the Salcombe Maritime Museum. Hire a Boat, take a Coastal or Estuary Trip, Scuba Diving, Canoeing and all Water Sports are catered for.

MODBURY - approx. 20 MINUTES DRIVE
An elegant old Market Town with many Georgian buildings, explore the interesting Antique and Craft Shops en-route to Plymouth.

TOTNES - approx. 30 MINUTES DRIVE
Dominated by its Norman Castle, Totnes is an historic town mellow with age and full of history, yet it is a lively and creative community. Visit the Elizabethan Museum and Guildhall, a weekly Outdoor Market and on Tuesday from May to September there is a Market where traders dress in Elizabethan Costume, Saturday morning visit the Pannier market. The town is famous for its concentration of Complimentary Therapists, Art and Craft Shops, Handmade Shoes, Antiquarian Bookshops and unusual Boutiques. From here explore the Dart Valley, with its peaceful villages, and tranquil river scenes. There is a Photographic Museum at Bowden House and Dartington Craft Centre nearby, selling the world famous glass.

DARTMOUTH - approx. 40 MINUTES DRIVE
A popular Boating Centre, also a Fishing Port. The town is rich in buildings of Historic and Architectural interest, Art Galleries and fascinating Shops. Markets on Tuesday and Friday mornings. The Britannia Royal Naval College offers guided tours. Pleasure Boat Trips up the river, past Agatha Christie's home, or along the coast. Take a combined Riverboat, Steam Railway and Bus Trip through the beautiful Dart Valley. Visit Coleton Fishacre, a National Trust property near Kingswear, a beautiful house and stream fed garden created by Lady Dorothy D'Oyly Carte of Gilbert and Sullivan fame. Woodlands Leisure Park is ideal for children. In addition to the above Ports and Market Towns there are Sleepy Hamlets in the rolling Countryside, breathtaking Waterside Villages, and Mysterious Moorland, such a wealth of attractions and places to visit and explore.

We require a deposit of £150.00 on booking and ask that the remainder to be paid 6 weeks before your expected arrival.

Weekends and short breaks are sometimes available and priced at £100.00 a night (min 2 nights). Please call for availablility and for weekend breaks for the months of January - April.
This time of year is great for walkers.
