HONEYSTONES general location is also perfect for visiting many interesting places, such as Shakespeare’s Country at Stratford on Avon, where you can visit the RSC, take an open bus tour or meander by the river; Oxford, the ancient university city with its riverside setting and stunning colleges and Cheltenham where, in March, you can visit the Cheltenham Gold Cup, one of the biggest days in the British Racing calendar.
Closer to the village are the lovely, smaller Cotswold towns of Stowe on the Wold, well known for its antiques and works of art, Bourton on the Water with its lovely river running through the middle of the town, Woodstock, home to Blenheim Palace, a wonderful day out for all the family and Morton in Marsh, where you can visit the weekly market. There are many family days out to be had in the area, with a model village, a Wildlife Park, steam railways and falconry centre.
The main line railway station is just 6 miles away from Honeystones, there is a bus service from the village to Banbury and there are numerous delightful walks from outside the front door, so even if you don’t have a car it’s the perfect spot to spend your holiday.
