The apartment is situated in the heart of Rethymno, just 200m from a sandy beach. The town of Rethymno is overflowing with history and amazing Venetian and Turkish architecture. It is built around the charming old harbour with the fishing boats arriving with the days catch. The new harbour and marina next to it, connects the town with the mainland of Greece. This traditional town is packed with atmosphere, the third largest in Crete, where narrow, alleyways and beautiful old houses mix with modern life. Rethymnon prefecture is situated perfectly in the middle of Crete, between the prefectures of Heraklio and Chania, which make it an ideal base to explore the island. The easy access to the National Highway makes moving around the island a smooth process. Heraklion Airport is within 1.5h drive.
BEACHES
The nearest sandy beach is just 200m away. Other nearby beaches, suitable for diving and snorkeling, are located within 15 mins drive. The magnificent central beach of Rethymno, about 10 miles in length, is within 10 mins walk from the apartment. The south cost with its unspoiled coves and dramatic cliffs, crystal clear, sparkling water is within 1hr drive.
