A big disadvantage to booking through an agent rather than arranging it yourself is the additional fee you have to pay for them arranging it. Unfortunately, there are some unscrupulous agents around who will charge as much as 25% (or even more) of the rental price as their fee, but who will not give you a great service or provide you with assistance if you should need it.
Another disadvantage to using an agent is that not always have they visited the property that you are considering renting. This also means that they are unable to provide you with any useful information about the area and what facilities are available to you locally.
If you want to avoid some of the pitfalls that comes with renting holiday villas in Spain through an agent it is important that you do some research first. Spend time looking at each agent and comparing them others and see just exactly what they offer that will help to make your time in Spain that little easier and more enjoyable.
