There is a wide array of features that visitors to Scotland can enjoy and which makes it such a popular destination for people to visit these days. Along some of the most wonderful and unspoilt landscape to view there are plenty of things for people to see and visit when they choose to visit this part of the UK.

In this article we look at a few of the places that many people visiting Scotland enjoy when they take a holiday there. As well as the rolling hills, the peaks it has some very dramatic coastline for people to explore.

1. Aberdeen and The Grampians - Here there are plenty of castles for one to explore along with some of the best and most well known whiskey distilleries also. Even though the weather can be a little wild at times in this North East part of Scotland it is because of its fantastic countryside that visitors from around the world are drawn to it.

2. Dundee and Angus - Here you can find some of the more unspoilt Highland Glens where a wide variety of wildlife can be viewed along with some of the country’s most dramatic and rugged coastline also. But if you are after something a little more vibrant then no visit is complete to this region without spending time in Dundee.

3. Edinburgh And The Lothian's - Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and has become a very cosmopolitan city where there is plenty to do and see. However, don't spend all your time exploring the city's historic areas take time out to explore the surrounding countryside as well. Along with visiting castles and ancient houses there are numerous battle sites that allow you to steep yourself in the country's history.

4. Glasgow - Another city that is becoming popular with visitors from around the world and is great for the various arts and culture it offers. Along with some really great places to stay in the city there are some fantastic to dine out at and because it has a very cosmopolitan feel there is great shopping here also.

5. The Kingdom of Fife - This is where the ancestral homes of Scotland's monarchs are situated and is also well known for its wonderful golf courses. But as well as have some of the most fantastic scenery in Scotland for one to enjoy you will get a real feel of how unique this area of Scotland.
