Every year millions of tourists spend at least two weeks enjoying everything that the Costa del Sol in Spain has to offer. The main reason why so many people choose this destination in Europe because it is easy to reach. The main airport for this region is situated in Malaga and from here it is usually at most only 40 minutes to some of this tourist areas popular resorts.
As you will soon discover each of the areas where tourists choose to stay have something unique to offer to their visitors. For those who want great nightlife then the towns of Puerto Banus, Marbella and Fuengirola. Then for those who have young children Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella are also suitable.
However, although much of your holiday with your family may be spent on the beach there are plenty of other great activities to enjoy. For some who would like to explore more of the surrounding countryside why not consider going on a jeep safari tour. Plus there are a wonderful array of activities along the Costa del Sol coast line that can be enjoyed. From taking a trip to sea to the dolphins or enjoy the animals at Fuengirola Zoo.
The benefit to staying in a holiday villa or apartment on the Costa del Sol is that you have much more freedom to choose where to eat in the evenings. Many of these places are situated close to some wonderful restaurants and bars but far enough away that noise at night won’t be an issue.
However if your holiday budget is limited then selecting hotels, villas or apartments further in from the beaches can prove extremely cost effective. At present because tourism figures have been down this year because of the recession rental prices have dropped quite dramatically.
So if you are looking for somewhere to holiday this year or next even during the winter months you cannot go far wrong with the Costa del Sol. On average the temperatures around here don’t fall much below the low 20’s in the winter and reach the high 30’s low 40’s in the summer. Plus the area surrounding Marbella seems to have a much better climate than many other parts of this area of Spain throughout the year.
