When it comes to theatre festivals no longer are you restricted to those in the major cities around the globe. Instead as you will soon discover many of the much smaller towns and cities are now using these festivals as a way of attracting more visitors to their area.
Certainly as you will soon find out there is nearly always a theatre festival going on in some town or city around the world each week of the year. For some their festivals may only last for a few days but for others their festivals can last for a few weeks.
However, the greatest benefit of such events is that it provides you with the chance to attend the theatre at a much more reasonable price. In fact in many cases the shows that are laid on are often those types of shows, which very rarely would be afforded the chance of making it to the main theatres that would be shown on say Broadway in New York.
In fact many of these kinds of festivals are made up of fringe acts, which rarely see the light of day at some of the most well known theatre around the world. Today even New York and London are understanding the importance of having Theatre Festivals. Simply it allows those who would not normally consider visiting the theatre the chance to do so.
In fact if you were to a quick search of the internet and typed in Theatre Festival you will be amazed at the results which appear. As you will soon discover today nearly every country around the world holds some kind of festival at some stage during the year.
But when it comes to theatre festivals do not restrict yourself to the more traditional styles. So rather than going for the well known plays or musicals why not try something a little more diverse instead. As you will find even the smallest theatre companies in the smallest towns hold such festivals for not just locals but visitors to enjoy.
However of the various different theatre festivals which now take place especially throughout the summer months when most people take their vacations. The most famous ones which will be regularly visited are those in some of the major cities around the world including both Dublin, Edinburgh, Ontario (where several take place) and various around Australia also.
So why not when next taking a trip abroad and you are looking for something a little more diverse and interesting to do, see if there is a theatre festival taking place close to where you are vacationing. Doing this you will be offered a wide and certainly diverse side of the kind of cultural activities that you would not normally consider going to when at home.
