Thinking of Sunshine and Sea for 2010?
Date: 11 December 2009
Are you looking for a holiday location next year that offers you sunshine, sea and beautiful landscapes? Then it is worth considering booking some time to visit some of the Turkey Aegean Coastline resorts.

These not only offer some of the most well kept beaches but offer plenty of places to explore and to enjoy some wonderful water sports as well. In fact this part of Turkey is ideal for those who love nature, those who just want to lie back relax and enjoy the sun or those who want to learn some more about the country’s heritage.

However this is a part of the country where you don’t need to limit yourself to visiting it during the summer months. Throughout the year the climate is wonderful and even during the spring, autumn and winter months it remains warm and sunny. However, there will be days when it does rain but only occasionally.

Yet although the weather along its coastline is great so it is in land as well. This is because the mountains that surround this coastline run perpendicular to the beaches and the valleys. So this means that the climate that is found close to the sea has the opportunity to reach further inland as well.

So when is the best time to visit this part of Turkey?

For those who are interested in taking part in a few water sports or just spending time sunbathing on the beach then of course you should opt to visit Turkey’s Aegean Coastline in the Summer. Whereas if you are more interested in learning about the country’s heritage by exploring the surrounding countryside and ancient ruins you are better of coming in the Spring or Autumn months.

Actually getting to this part of Turkey is not difficult as there are regular flights from Istanbul to Izmir and lasts around 50 minutes. However, for those who are a little more adventurous to reach this region why not take an overnight bus from Istanbul to Izmir that lasts around 7 hours or take the overnight car ferry.

Upon reaching Izmir you then have a number of choices of places where you can stay upon your arrival. For those who really want to experience what life is like for those who live here all year round then staying in Afyon, Assos, Aphrodisias or Bodrum.

All of these resorts offer a wide selection of beautiful places to stay and activities that one can enjoy during your visit to this beautiful area of Turkey. Certainly for the younger people then time is worth spent in Bodrum as this has some really great nightlife for them to enjoy as it has several discos and clubs that are open until the very early hours of the morning.

Whilst when it comes to the Turkey Aegean town of Afyon although it was for many centuries renowned for growing opium this is not the case today. Now you are more likely to find people enjoying the locally made Turkish Delight which in some cases is made using the local very rich clotted cream.
