1. Anjou – This is part of the Loire Valley where because of its particular climate a wide array of wines are produced. From bone dry and sweet whites to more powerful reds and a few sweet light roses. It is because of the climate that some of the world’s most versatile grapes are able to grow here.
This an area of France that allows you to go back to the more traditional methods used for creating some truly wonderful tasting wines. In fact the sweet wines that are being created in this part of France are now considered to be some of the world’s most delicious, rich but beautifully balanced ones.

It isn’t just the grapes that create these beautiful wines but the limestone the vines are planted on as well add to their taste. In fact if you intend to try any of the reds available in this part of this country then go for those which have been aged for a decade or more.
3. Muscadet – This area of the Loire Valley is situated at the western end of the Loire Valley. The land that the grapes grow on here is much lower and undulating than to be found in other parts of this region of France. It is well known for producing the crisp dry white wine of the same name and is something to be drunk when eating all forms of fish and shell fish especially oysters or mussels.
